Fitness Quest Eclipse 4100HR/A elliptical

There is very little difference between the Fitness Quest Eclipse 4100 HR/A and the 4100 HR.

Both of these machines contain a fitness computer that has 6 preset programs for you to choose from and 2 heart rate control programs.

With the preset programs you can choose to have a different program each day and the heart rate controls help you make sure your heart rate stays within the target zone to give your body the optimum workout for burning calories and toning up muscles.

There are linked arms on this machines so that you use your arms in conjunction with your legs for a total body workout using all the muscles of your upper and lower body.

These ellipticals have a low impact stride. The stride length is 15 inches, which is rather short. Experts say that for maximum performance an elliptical machine should have a stride of about 19 to 21 inches.

The makers of the Eclipse 4100 say that the shorter stride is a better match for the normal walking stride and puts less stress on the ligaments of the legs.

The Eclipse 4100 models are a little larger than other Eclipse models, but this is to accommodate taller individuals.

The larger size does not make the machine heavier and it is still easy to carry from room to room if you prefer to vary the environment of your workout. It is designed to be used indoors, so you wouldn't be able to bring it out in the garden.

The console display gives you a read out of all the important things you need to know about your workout.

The display is easy to read so you don't need to squint or stop exercising to get the vital information you need about the time, speed, distance, calories burned and your heart rate.

The contact pulse rate monitors are located on the handlebars. From the time you put your hands on these bars the machine starts to measure your pulse so you know at all times what your heart rate is so you can monitor it as you go along.
The main difference between the two models is that the 4100 HR has castor wheels that make moving the elliptical machine much easier. It also has the levelling system included if you need to use the machine on an uneven floor.
